Obituary for
Robert “Bob” Bass
The family announces with heavy hearts, the unexpected passing of Robert “Bob” Bass, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at the age of 70 years young. Bob leaves behind his loving wife Alma Morin, his loving sister Marlene (Bass) Crytes, and his two sons David Bass and Michael Bass. Predeceased by his father Lewin Bass, his mother, Olga Bass and his sister Laurie Torikian. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and many cherished friends near and far.
Bob was a heavy equipment operator for over 20 years, until he retired and joined the Leuschen Transportation team. His “little” bus filled with his “special kids” was the light of his day and brought him so much joy. He was well known in our community for his wittiness, his “to the point” responses and his never ending wisecracks. He found comfort having a beer or two at the Surge with Kim and her staff as well as the afternoon patrons. “But you know I’m still beautiful!” Bob was Alma’s everything even though they often referred to each other as a “pain in the butt”. They loved each other dearly and ended everyday with a kiss and “I love you”. They were each other’s world and will continue to be in the afterlife.
As per Bob’s wishes a cremation has taken place and there will be no service or visitation. Remembrance donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins, ON
