C’est avec grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre père, Lionel Boyer, à Extendicare Timmins, le samedi 17 février 2024, à l’âge de 97 ans.
Prédécédé par son épouse Rachel (née Morin). Il manquera énormément à ses chers enfants Daniel (Sylvie), Claude, Paul (Denyse), Pamela et Denise, ainsi qu’à ses petits-enfants Melanie Phelan (Clayton), Christina Bouchard (Dan) et Patrick Boyer (Carmen) et ses arrière-petits-enfants.
Il est aussi survécu par son frère Ronald Boyer (feue Pauline) et sa belle-sœur Monique Paquette (feu Charles) (feu Jean-Guy). Il laisse également dans le deuil plusieurs nièces et neveux.
Lionel fût prédécédé par ses parents Gilberte (née Desrochers) et Arthur Boyer, son frère Albert Boyer, sa sœur Pierrette Boyer, ainsi que ses beaux-frères et ses belles-sœurs Aldéa Denommée (feu Magloire), Lucien Morin (feue Rita), Lorenza Desrochers (feu Léodore), Émile Morin (feu Annette), Yvonne Hirzer (feu John), Loretta Fortier (feu Isidore), Rita St. Amour (feu Éloi), Lucie Loubert (feu Wilfrid), Jean Paul Morin (feue Yolande), Agnes Cousineau (feu Conrad) et Thérèse Riel (feu André).
Résident de longue date de Foleyet, Dad déménagea à Timmins avec sa famille en 1972 et travailla pour le Ministère des transports de l’Ontario jusqu’à sa retraite. Il aimait passer du temps en famille à son chalet au Lac Ivanhoe. Dad avait une passion pour la chasse et la pêche.
Nous souhaitons remercier l’ensemble du personnel d’Extendicare Timmins pour leurs soins et leur compassion envers notre père. Un merci spécial au Dre Di Tullio et les anges bienveillants de l’unité Lac Gillies.
Selon les souhaits de la famille, un service funéraire privé aura lieu suivi par l’inhumation au Cimetière mémorial de Timmins. Les arrangements funéraires sont confiés à la Maison funéraire LESSARD. Vos témoignages de sympathie peuvent se traduire par un don à la Société Alzheimer District de Timmins-Porcupine.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our father Lionel Boyer at Extendicare Timmins on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the age of 97.
Predeceased by his spouse Rachel (nee Morin). He will be sadly missed by his loving children Daniel (Sylvie), Claude, Paul (Denyse), Pamela and Denise, along with his grandchildren Melanie Phelan (Clayton), Christina Bouchard (Dan) and Patrick Boyer (Carmen) and his great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brother Ronald Boyer (late Pauline) and his sister-in-law Monique Paquette (late Charles) (late Jean-Guy). Also left to mourn are numerous nieces and nephews.
Lionel was predeceased by his parents Gilberte (nee Desrochers) and Arthur Boyer, his siblings Albert Boyer and Pierrette Boyer, as well as his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Aldéa Denommée (late Magloire), Lucien Morin (late Rita), Lorenza Desrochers (late Léodore), Émile Morin (late Annette), Yvonne Hirzer (late John), Loretta Fortier (late Isidore), Rita St. Amour (late Éloi), Lucie Loubert (late Wilfrid), Jean Paul Morin (late Yolande), Agnes Cousineau (late Conrad) and Thérèse Riel (late André).
A long-time resident of Foleyet, Dad moved to Timmins with his family in 1972 and worked for MTO
until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family at his cottage at Ivanhoe Lake. Dad loved hunting and fishing.
We wish to thank all the staff at Extendicare Timmins for their care and kindness towards our father, especially Dr. Di Tullio and the caring angels of the Gillies Lake unit.
As per the family’s wishes, a private funeral service will take place followed by interment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations made to Alzheimer Society of Timmins-Porcupine District would be greatly appreciated.
