The family announces with great sorrow his passing on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the age of 80 with his wife by his side. Leo shared a wonderful life with his beloved wife and best friend Yolande (Yolly) Roy. They were married for over 57 beautiful years and were inseparable. Loving father of Sally Farsangi (Parviz) from Oakville, Michael Roy (Carolina) from Timmins and Ann Costello from Hamilton.
Loving grandfather of Cameron Farsangi (Sarah), Samantha Farsangi, Emerson Roy, Zackary Costello and great grandfather to newborn Leon Farsangi. Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Lumina (Lucy) Roy. Survived by his sister Linda Chenier (Richard) and brother-in-law Lucien Cloutier (Micheline). He is survived by his cousin and good friend Gilbert Lemieux (Monique). Leo also leaves behind many other loving family and friends he cared for greatly.
Leo began his mining career at the Hollinger Mine where he worked for 4 years at which time he left and joined Placer Dome Mine where he remained for the next 36 years until his retirement.
In keeping with Leo’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations can be made to the Timmins Food Bank or the Timmins and District Hospital.
