Jean-Guy Desjardins
The family announces with great sorrow the peaceful passing of Jean-Guy Desjardins at the Timmins and District Hospital on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the age of 84 years. Beloved husband of almost 60 years to Anita (Trudel). Loving father of Dominique Desjardins and Brigitte Esposito (Tony). Cherished grandpa of Daniel Desjardins (Shania), Sylvie Desjardins (Erick Lamminen), Marc Desjardins (Kyanna), Justin Desjardins and Eric Desjardins (Sarah) as well as great grandpa of Tyson, Sadie and Kohen. He is survived by his siblings Raymond (Huguette) Desjardins, Clémence Desjardins, Thérèse (Gaetan) Quenneville as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Wilfrid and Antoinette Desjardins and many brothers and sisters. The family would like to express gratitude to the Timmins and district hospital emerge staff for their care and compassion.
Jean-Guy was a gentle kind man, loved by everyone and enjoyed helping everyone he met. He worked tirelessly for 32 years with Hostess Frito-Lay and took his job seriously and with passion. In his spare time, Jean-Guy loved to golf, spend time with family and friends and bring a smile to everyone’s face. He was that favorite uncle to many and a grandpa to everyone. He will be deeply missed by everyone who met him.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1pm from Miron-Wilson Chapel (Fr. Simon Drapeau officiating). Remembrance donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends and family on Saturday from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 150 Balsam St. S, Timmins, ON
