With great regret, the family announces his peaceful passing on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Extendicare Timmins at the age of 88 years old. Jean Claude was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Lucienne Laurin (Emond) with whom he shared 67 years of marriage; his children Denis Laurin (Suzanne Beauchamp) of Timmins, Lise Laurin of Niagara Falls and Louise Laurin of Woodstock; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Lucille Bozzer and his sisters-in-law Cécile Laurin and Mary Laurin. Predeceased by his parents Wilfrid and Bernadette Laurin, his sister Florence Duguay, his brothers Fernand Laurin, Roger Laurin, Maurice Laurin, and Marcel Laurin, his brother-in-law Fermo Bozzer, as well as his sisters-in-law Lola and Thérèse.
Jean Claude enjoyed life to the fullest. He worked in the mines for many years until his retirement in 1991.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 11am at the St-Joseph Parish. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Donations made to the Canadian Lung Association would be greatly appreciated.
