We, the family and friends, grieve the unexpected loss of our beloved and irreplaceable Janet Bélanger (nee Kane) on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the age of 70.
Loving wife of 35 years to Claude Bélanger. Dear mother to Shona Bouvier and Hollie-jean Bouvier (Matt Thompson) and stepmother to Natali Bélanger (Ian Cameron) and Mélani Waterman (Brett Waterman). She was a loving grandmother to Jacob and Mason Beauchamp and step-grandmother to Charlotte and Lukas Waterman.
Janet will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Linda Kuiack (Pierre Rozon), Ann Woodside (Richard), and Heather Riva (Bob). She will also be dearly missed by her sister-in-law Elly Romaniuk (late Taras) as well as by her niece and nephew, Mackenzie and Logan Woodside. Additionally, she will be missed by her devoted and cherished fur baby Stoney.
She was predeceased by her parents James and Jean Kane, her parents-in-law Victor and Eva Bélanger, as well as by her brother-in-law Ron Bélanger (Paule).
Janet’s kind heartedness, strength of character, sense of humour, and loyalty to those she loved will continue to inspire us. She always gave special attention to those who requested her advice and help, and spoke passionately and dedicatedly of her family. It is also little wonder that her husband considered her his best friend, kindred spirit, confidante, and most of all, a great wife.
Janet was a person of many passions and interests. She loved all things Scottish, was a lover of animals, an avid reader, an Elvis fanatic, and could sing in Chinese.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her loving spirit and goodness will remain in the hearts of everyone who loved her.
Respecting her wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences and donations can be made at www.lessardstephens.com
