Gordon (also known as Gord or Elwood) passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family, reunited with his beloved wife Ellen and son-in-law Alfred on January 1st, 2024.
Gord was a proud veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, who loved to share stories of his time in the military and the places he travelled and visited while serving. In his retired years, he enjoyed the warmer weather and sunshine spending many winters in Florida with his daughter Sharon and her family. He enjoyed music and dancing, Sunday afternoons watching football while enjoying a Labatt Blue and playing cards. Most of all, he loved his family.
Dear son of late Russell and late Maureen. Brother to Dale (Wendy). Predeceased by his brother Glenn (Terry), and sister Fay (Norm).
Proud father to his children Kevin (Sylvie), Brian (Tammy), Sharon (late Alfred) and Karen (Ted).
Loving Grandfather to Shelby, Kristopher (Madison), Joey, Matthew, Nicholas (Evelyn), Danica (Matthew), Alyssa (Zachary), Tyler and Bry; Great-grandfather to Eloise.
Gordon had many “Granddogs”, one of which being Kailey the Golden doodle, whose daily walking route included a stop to visit Grandpa where there were often treats already out for her.
Gord will be greatly missed by his family; he has left us with many beautiful memories. His eye roll and infamous smirk along with his sense of humor will never be forgotten.
At Gordon’s request, there will be no visitation or service. A family memorial will be held at a later date. A sincere thank you to Kelly from Home Instead, as well as Chantal and Dr. Walton from Maison McCulloch Hospice for their compassion and care in his final weeks. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD Funeral and Cremation Centre. Remembrance donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
