Eileen Burns (Young)
The family wishes to announce with heavy hearts, the passing of Eileen Burns, in her 96th year, on Wednesday, July 03, 2024, at the Golden Manor in Timmins. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 2004. Her parents, Henry Young, and Queenie Anderson (Birch), and her three brothers, George, Frank (Donna, predeceased) and Joseph. Eileen is survived by her sister, Joyce Aitchison (Jack, predeceased). Eileen is also survived by her children, Robert (Adeline), Kenneth (Lillian), Brian (Howellen), Stephen (Helga), Shirlene Young, Cindy (Laurent) Lanteigne, Karen (Andrew) Watson. Mom is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many grandchildren. Eileen was born and raised on a small farm in Matheson (Vimy Ridge). Her passion in life was her large family. She often said that her only regret was not having more children. Mom enjoyed country music, picking berries, dancing, hosting home cooked meals for her family, and having the occasional room temperature beer, and not necessarily in that order. Mom liked the “simple life.” As a, stay at home mom, she was always there to put a band aid on a scrape and to perhaps give us a quick kiss or a hug, before sending us back outside to play. Mom took pride in her personal appearance, always having her hair done, and never going out without being properly dressed and putting on a little makeup. Above all else, mom, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, enjoyed discussing the Bible with her neighbors. She spent the last year and a half in the Golden Manor, in Timmins, where she was well cared for. Eileen made it through the “great depression,” and lived a full, and complete life. She will be missed by her family, and community. Rest in peace, mom.
There will be no visitation, however a Funeral service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, in Timmins, 1340 MacLean Drive, on Saturday July 13th at 2:00 P.M. Interment at Hillcrest Cemetery in Matheson.
