The Family announces in sorrow of the passing of Douglas Purdy on December 9, 2024 in Timmins at Timmins District Hospital
Doug was 59 years who fought a courageous battle against cancer for the past year. He served in the military was a loving family man, husband, father, brother and uncle and a friend to everyone he met. He had an avid interest in genealogy in family history and enjoyed learning various languages. He loved fishing, kayaking and family functions. He cherished his grandchildren very much.
Doug is survived by his wife Lucy and his children Tiffany (Daryl), Steven (Clarice), Linda, Link (Teyonna), and Elijah. His sisters Judith(Maurice), Marsha, Christine and Jill. Grandpa/ Papa to Bayley, Lincoln, Patrick, Tony, Jared, Treyson, Link Jr, and Amelia. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at Miron-Wilson Funeral Home on December 16,2024
Family will receive friends from 10-12 and funeral service at 12 pm, followed by an internment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery after the service
