It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a wonderful and loving woman Branka Murn Špehar. She was a dedicated wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She died peacefully in her sleep on Holy Saturday, March 30th, 2024.
The love for her family was what gave her joy and fulfillment. It shone through in everything she did for us. She was the matriarch, she was our foundation, she was our rock. She was predeceased by her husband Eduard Spehar (Nov. 11, 2020). She is survived by her children, Visnja (Mark) Scripnick, Miro (Anne) Spehar, her cherished grandchildren Nova (Matt) Scripnick-Ashby, Astra (Akiff) Scripnick-Kanji, Raili (Johnny) Barabas, Mikka (Danielle) Spehar, Ivo (Krista) Spehar, and her beloved great grandchildren Rhylan, Corah, Jasper and Zuri.
She is remembered lovingly by family and life long friends both near and far. She will be fondly remembered by those who met her and knew her as a brave and cheerful person. Though she had her own crosses to bear, she went heroically through life’s difficulties. It was fate that wanted her to pass on Holy Saturday before Easter. May God grant her eternal rest, and may the perpetual light shine upon her always, and illuminate her eternal path.
Visitation will be held at LESSARD FUNERAL AND CREMATION CENTRE in Timmins on Monday April 8th, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:00pm with service following in the chapel. Internment will follow at Timmins Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations may be made to Sprucedale Family Council that will be used for residents’ programs to enjoy, in Strathroy, ON or the Schumacher Croatian Hall.
