Armel Tanguay
The family announces with great sorrow his sudden passing on October 29th, 2023 at the age of 67 years. Beloved husband of Claudette Tanguay (nee Thomas). Cherished father of Steve Vachon, Francine (Doug) Osborne, Rachelle (Mark) Madden, Aliesha (Theodore) Thomas. He is the proud grandfather of Kyle, Keegan, Korey, Sophie, Alexa, Kurt, Ashton, Anna-belle and great grandfather of James. Dear brother of Arthur (Nicole), Suzanne, Daniel, Joseph, Maurice and Madeleine (Ron). Also left to mourn our his parents in law Sue and William Thomas as well as his brother in law Ron Thomas and Bill (Christine) Thomas. Armel will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Lionel Tanguay and Irene Falardeau, his stepfather Lucien Falardeau and his siblings Bridgite, Doris and Joel.
Armel, or better known to his family and friends as Gargamel, was a loving family man, outdoorsman and tradesman. He loved his wife unconditionally and it showed with everything he did. He loved to tinker around in his shop, camping and spending time with his little buddies. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends. His infectious smile and laugh will always be in our hearts.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from the Miron-Wilson funeral home chapel, a reception will follow in the reception lounge. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
