It is with profound sorrow that the family announces the passing of Amy Vien, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on February 25th 2024. Amy was born on October 20th, 1931, and her journey touched the lives of many with kindness, love, and generosity.
Amy’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and creativity. She had a passion for knitting, and her nimble fingers crafted countless pairs of socks that she lovingly gifted to everyone she knew. Her kitchen was a place of magic, where the aroma of freshly baked goods filled the air. From butter tarts, to pies, and summer desserts to Christmas cookies, Amy’s culinary creations brought joy to all who tasted them.
Raymond was the love of Amy’s life, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter. She leaves behind her children Marielle Vien (Petelo, deceased), Pierre Vien (Michelle), Francine Bernotas (David), and Lynn Graham (Ted). Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren Eric, Nina (Steve), Amanda (Jenna), Christine (Marc), Nicholas (Brooklyn), Stephanie (Marry), Skyler (Emilie), Joakim, Aymerik, and Alikisia. Additionally, her legacy will continue through her great-grandchildren Ashlynn, Gemma, Mélodie, Emorie, Marco, Avery, Ezra, and Westen.
Amy is predeceased by her sisters Anne-Marie, Annette and Rita, as well as her brothers Gerry and Vincent. She is survived by her sister Rachelle and brother Jean-Paul, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she held dear.
Amy will be remembered for her kind heart, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before her and the memories of those she leaves behind.
A Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10 am from St. Joseph Church. Interment will take place on Monday, March 4, 2024. In Amy’s memory, remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital – Hospice would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm at the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S, Timmins.
