Wayne Arthur Drummond, in his 73rd year, passed away suddenly and peacefully at LHSC – University Hospital on Thursday, September 26, after a fulfilling and well lived life. Wayne was born in Montreal, grew up in Ottawa and Lanark County, and lived near Belmont. For the past 35 years, Wayne has been a dedicated employee of Western University, Facilities Management, as the Control Room Operator of Western Environmental Systems (WES Control). He was passionate about his work, gaining many friendships across the campus over the years. In his spare time, Wayne loved to go fishing with family, take nature photos, and cheer on his Montreal Canadiens. Wayne was an adherent of the Belmont United Church.
Wayne was a loving and much-loved husband to his wife Nancy Chipps-Drummond and a loving father to their children Deanna and Matthew. Wayne is survived by his brother Brian Drummond (Lillian), sister-in-law Shirley Gyori (late Ernie), brother-in-law Gary Chipps (late Lois), brother-in-law Keith Chipps (late Connie), and many caring nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Edna and Clarence Drummond and brothers Ron (Gail), John (Linda), Barry (late Jean) and Steve.
In keeping the family’s wishes, a private family visitation and funeral service will be held. A public celebration of Wayne’s life will be announced at a later date.
