Small, Olive “Mary” (nee Kelly) (September 23, 1929 – July 13, 2024)
Passed Away, Safely into the Arms of Her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Mary (nee Kelly) Small, on Saturday, July 13th, 2024, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, at the age of 94. Born in Swan River, Manitoba to her parents Richard John Kelly and Olive (Gratton) Kelly. Alongside her late husband Wilbert (“Bert”) H. Small (April 3, 2008), they raised a beautiful family on their farm in the Brownsville area. Mary was the happiest when she was surrounded by the love of her family. Mary will be remembered as a former member of the Brownsville United Church and as a life member of the Brownsville U.C.W. Always a caring mother and mother-in-law to: Craig (Sharon) Small, of Delhi; Shelagh (David Raymer), of Barrie; Peggy (Mohamad Azimi), of Acton; and daughter-in-law Pam Phillips (late Ken Small), of London. A proud grandma to Michael, Wesley, Denver (Jill), Caroline, Sydney, and Avery. Mary was especially proud to be GG to her great-granddaughter Olive. Special mention to Justin and his son Gabe. Mary loved her many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Mary’s expressed wishes, all are invited to attend a complete traditional funeral service to be held on Thursday, July 18th at 11:00 a.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, under the care of Rev. Paul Robinson, of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. All funeral attendees are invited to attend a reception at Avondale United Church, 60 Harvey Street, immediately following the funeral service. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17th, between 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Cremation follows the funeral, with later inurnment in the Kelly Family Plot of Delmer Cemetery.
