Mengly Sar was a kind, loving, caring and positive soul who has conquered many obstacles in his life, from immigrating to Canada from Cambodia, to live the “Canadian Dream”. It is with a heavy heart that after his full strength and determined battle to conquer cancer, he passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2nd, 2024 at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
A loving husband to his beloved wife, Vuoch Cheav who has stood by his side every step of the way, a loving father to his children, Lak and his wife, Nettie (from Thornhill, Ontario) and Solida (from Toronto, Ontario), all of whom have stood by his side to help give him the encouragement and support in his difficult battle over the past 7 months. A loving grandfather to his amazing grandchildren, Evelyn (from London, Ontario) who recently started at the University of Western Ontario studying Business Management and Cecilia (from Thornhill, Ontario) who has started conquering the 11th grade. Both with plans to make their late grandpa happy and proud.
Mengly was also loved in his native country, Cambodia by his remaining relatives consisting of his beloved sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mengly will always be remembered by his family and friends as a man of integrity, patriotic love for Canada, willpower and love for life. He will be greatly missed forever in everyone’s heart and never forgotten.
