With her loving family by her side on Thursday, December 14th, 2023, Madeline Esther (Jenson) Newton passed away at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife of the Late Jack Newton (2015). Proud and loving mother of Sharon Smith (Terry), Linda Pottelberg (Paul) and John Newton (Pauline) all of Tillsonburg. Dear grandmother of James (Lorie), Michael (2014), Paul Jr. (Diana), Trevor (Cara), Jason (Cheryl), Melisa (Tom), Jennifer and 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Dear sister of Bea (Larry) Ecker, sisters-in-law Harriet Mauthe and Bernice Jenson and brother-in-law Robert (Peggy) Clark. Madeline is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Norman and Beatrice (Curtis) Jenson, sister Kathleen Jenson (1934), brothers Norman Jenson (1995), Melvin Jenson (1997), Kenneth Edward Jenson (2012) and Richard Jenson (2019). In keeping with Madeline’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place at a later date. Madeline’s family would like to thank Dr. Lamb, Dr. Sohal, Dr. Sohla and ER Nurses, Dr. MacLean, Dr. Lewis, Dr. Regis, Nurses Megan and Ken, P.S.W. Jennifer and a special thank you to paramedic Ted Sanders for his care and kindness to mom on November 29th. Memorial donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted by the Newton family.
