It is with deep sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather John Farkas, on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the age of 83 years. Loving husband of 56 years to Mary. Loving and supportive father to Kathy Farkas and Pamela (Kevin) Bristow. Loving and wise grandfather to Natasha Farkas and Braxton Bristow. Great grandfather to Aurora, Roman and Ellie Tremblay. Survived by his mother-in-law Elizabeth Gal, his sister-in-law’s Elizabeth (Arpad) Dobrentey, Eva Gal and Susan (Doug) Wardell. Loving uncle to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Janos M. and Rozalia V. Farkas, father-in-law George Gal Sr. and brother-in-law George (Clara) Gal Jr. John had a very special place in his heart for his Vince Mama, who raised him. A memorial visitation for John will be held at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Karl Allen officiating. Interment will be at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
