SZAKAL, Irene Margaret (June 17, 1939 – August 20, 2024)
Passed away, peacefully, with her loving husband John by her side, on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, at the L.H.S.C. – Victoria Hospital, London, ON Irene Margaret (Cservid) Szakal a longtime resident of Vienna, at the age of 85. Born in Tillsonburg. Irene worked at both as a Legal Secretary at the Brown and Brown Lawyers, Tillsonburg in conjunction with helping her husband John on the family tobacco farm. Irene was the much-loved wife of John B. Szakal. Survived by a brother-in-law George and his wife Terry Szakal of Dunnville. Irene is also survived by some close friends in Vienna and Tillsonburg and surrounding area. Predeceased by a brother John Cservid.
Relatives, friends and Vienna neighbours are invited to the public visitation Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by Liturgical Service of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg (519)842-4238, by Rev. Father Seejo John of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Tillsonburg. Interment follows in the Delhi Cemetery.
