It is with overwhelming sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Gerald Jay Balcom. Jay passed at TDMH, surrounded by his loving family on Monday, January 8 2024. Jay is the most dearly loved best friend, life partner, and husband of Lynda- Lea. Adored father of his children Lyndsay Andrena, Andrea Lea, and William Bryce. Most cherished son of Sharon and the late Gerald Balcom. Loving and protective big brother to Stephanie and her husband Mark Pelling. Proud uncle of Brett (Hayley) and McKenzie (Jesse) Pelling. Great Uncle to Jayce, Lucan, and Alanis. Predeceased by his loved grandparents Alexandrena and McKay Davis, Margaret and Vane Balcom.
Following Jay’s wishes, cremation has taken place. An Open House Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 27 from 1-3 pm at Springford Community Hall, Springford Ontario. Private family inurnment at Otterville Cemetery will occur at a later date. Please consider a donation in Jay’s memory to the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital if desired. Enjoy a steeped tea with a friend, go fishing when you can, and never ever take life for granted.
