BUTT, Garfield “Gary” Murray (May 9, 1945 – September 21, 2023)
Passed away, after a courageous struggle with illness, on Thursday, September 21st, 2023, Garfield “Gary” Butt, a resident of Tillsonburg, surrounded by his loving family by his side, at V.O.N. Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock, at the age of 78. Gary was born in Amherstburg, Ontario. Over his working years, Gary was employed as a long-haul transport truck driver for various trucking companies. Gary enjoyed spending time hobby farming and socializing with his family and friends. Gary was an avid fan of old country music. Gary is survived by his wife of 30 years, Therese E. Belanger-Butt, of Tillsonburg. Also survived by his children Debbie Filion (Mike Nadeau); Sylvie St. Onge-Hayes (Daniel) Hayes; Bradley Butt (Kristin MacDonald); Charles Butt (Vicki McDougall-Butt); Sherry (James Massicotte); Dawn (David Lortie); Mark St. Onge (Kimberly Ann Walker); Teresa (‘Trish’) (Jamie McCreight). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as by several siblings and their families. Predeceased by his parents Clifford and Irene Butt, by his son Garfield Junior, as well as by multiple siblings.
In keeping with Gary’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place with later inurnment to take place in Colchester, Ontario.
