Dumoulin-Moss, Darlene Joyce (May 17, 1955 – January 27, 2024)
It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Darlene Joyce (Beerman) Dumoulin-Moss, her sudden, unexpected passing on Saturday, January 27th, 2024, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, at the age of 68. Darlene was a lifelong warrior as she battled concurrent autoimmune diseases and diabetes. She refused to let that stop her or define her, even in the end. She was full of life and exuberance, always with a laugh and a big smile that we so badly miss now. A long time Girl Guides Leader She was so compassionate and giving. Her life embodied that with all of her volunteering and kindness she was the first to roll up her sleeves and jump in if it meant helping someone in need! A favourite story of Darlene is that she and her husband were friends with Jeff Healey, from Toronto, where they used to visit his nightclub. He would come over for supper and on one weekend, when the kids at school didn’t believe that Lesley knew him, Jeff gave her his leather band jacket to wear to school. Darlene was resident of Aylmer. She is lovingly remembered by her husband and best friend, Gerard “Jerry” Rene Dumoulin, of Aylmer and by her much-loved children: Christopher (Jackie) Moss and Lesley (Troy Bullied). Always a proud grandmother to Tyler Bullied, Hope Howse, Johnny Moss and Cassandra Moss. Also survived by her brother Robert Beerman (Peter), as well as by nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Earl Robert Beerman (2011), Gail Stella (Towns) Beerman (2021) and by her sister Judy Lynn Fewster (2020).
Darlene was as a voracious reader, she loved reading books from all genres. She loved to watch movies, especially mystery ones. Her exceptional loving personality, her big smile and her spontaneous laugh that I so badly miss now. She will be remembered by her family and friends as loyal, caring and truly present in their lives. Darlene also loved her many pets over the years, especially her dogs Griffin, D.J. and Shadow and her cats Reggue, Hope, Shadow and Tipsy, Great grief is a price we pay for love.
