Brenda Lee Carroll, née Herron, of Tillsonburg, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2024 at Caressant Care in Courtland, at the age of 73 years.
Born and raised in Courtland, Ontario, Brenda began her career as a hair stylist. After moving to Tillsonburg and marrying her late husband of 47 years William Franklin (Bill) Carroll, she helped manage the family business of Carroll Brothers’ Hardware. Her greatest pleasure was serving the Town of Tillsonburg, which she did with devotion and enthusiasm, first as a Councillor and then filling the mayoral vacancy from June to October, 2000. It was her honour to have served in that capacity.
Privately, Brenda enjoyed entertaining at her home, winter trips to Florida, summers at the cottage near Bracebridge, Ontario with her close family cousins, the Rivers family, and playing a mean game of cribbage.
She is survived by her son Garrin, of Tillsonburg, and her daughter Lisa, of Nelson, BC. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the excellent staff at Caressant Care in Courtland for their kindness and wonderful care. Cremation has taken place; a private family graveside will take place at the Tillsonburg Cemetery.
