VanDenBrink, Audrey (nee Duits) (November 25, 1931 – July 14, 2024)
It is with sadness, that we the family of Audrey VanDenBrink announce her peaceful passing, after a well-loved life, on Sunday, July 14th, 2024, at Woodingford Lodge, Tillsonburg, at the age of 92. Audrey was born in Barneveld, Holland, to Gijsbertus and Cornelia (Van Harskamp) Duits. Audrey is happily reunited in Heaven with her husband of 57 years, Jannes VanDenBrink (November 13th, 2008). Audrey was lovingly remembered as the matriarch of the five-generation family. She was a dedicated Mother, Oma and she loved nothing more than Sunday afternoons having her family all together. Audrey was also a member of Avondale United Church.
Much loved mother and mother-in-law to: John (Marlene) VanDenBrink, of Otterville; Gil (Vicki) VanDenBrink, of Port Rowan; Ron (Shirley) VanDenBrink, of RR7 Tillsonburg; Jeanette (Tim Cowan), of Tillsonburg; Chris (Christine) VanDenBrink, of Tillsonburg. Always a caring and proud Oma to her 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter Isla. Also survived by her brother John (Barb) Duits, of Forestville, as well as by 3 sisters and 2 sisters-in-law in Holland, as well as by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Jannes (2008), son Bill (2015), a much-loved great-grandson Austin and by several siblings in Holland.
In keeping with Audrey’s expressed wishes, a traditional funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg, by Rev. Paul Robinson. Public visitation will be held one hour prior to the service between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Private family interment follows the funeral service in Delmer Cemetery. All funeral attendees are invited to attend a reception at Avondale United Church, 60 Harvey Street, immediately following the funeral service.
