It is with great sadness that we announce our mother, Edith Bouchard age 86 passed away with her loving family by her side, on Saturday Oct 12 2024, at St Joseph Hospital.
Edith was born July 8 1938 in Lac Seul, Ontario to Lazarus & Mary Ann Cromarty. She married Mike Capay and they had 4 children. After the loss of Mike, she lived in the Red Lake area with Paddy Quedent. Years later, she married Leonard Bouchard of Gull Bay, where she lived for 15 years. She grew to love the people of Gull Bay and regarded them as family too. Edith returned to Lac Seul early in the 2000’s.
Our mother truly enjoyed life to the fullest, being outdoors, being with family and friends. She had the ability to reach people of all ages in a deep & positive way . She had a good heart, and loved to make people laugh through her “Academy Award Performances “. She had a way to make us put smiles of joy on our faces and souls.
Edith is survived by her sister Elsie Gray, son Fergie & daughter Florence, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, numerous nieces & nephews and many relations . We will miss her very much and we are grateful to have had her in our lives. She will be forever in our hearts.
We regret to inform you we will be returning mom to her home community, and arrangements will be posted.
We would like to thank the staff, doctors, nurses, aides and surgeons who took such good care of mom at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center.
We appreciate the outpouring of support from our community, and family and friends during this very difficult time.
