Obituary
Ignazio passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on February 21, 2024 in Markham. He was the loving husband of Rosaria for 62 years. Cherished father to Patrizia (Ron). Beloved nonno of Kevin and Rachael (Cameron). Dear brother to Leonarda.
Born in Vita, Sicily to Vincenzo and Caterina (nee Ponzo) Genco, the youngest of 5 children. He came to Canada at the age of 24 to start a new life with big dreams, which he accomplished with his beloved wife Rosaria by his side. Ignazio was a loving father, a leader, mentor and father-figure to all of his extended family and friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He is a legend in the sailing and boating community. He was a generous man his entire life, a proud commander of the Knights of Malta – Order of St. John and loved to participate in many charity golf tournaments. His memory will always live on through all the contributions he made to help others and the memories we will all cherish forever.
