ROPP: Norma Joan – passed away at home surround by her family after a courageous and valiant fight on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Norma Ropp of Stratford and formerly of Tavistock in her 90th year.
Survived by her loving and devoted husband Roy whom she married April 5, 1958, her children Janice, Brenda (Frank), Sandy (John), Donna, Jerry (Krista) and Amanda (John), her 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Edith Ropp and Loreen & Lloyd Ropp. Aunt to Karen & Dennis, and second Mom and (aunt) to Joan, Vicki, Todd and Larry as well as Cindy.
Predeceased by her daughter Margaret Anne, sister Elizabeth and brother Nelson and sister and brother-in-law Barb & Carl and her special fury friend Ollie.
Norma & Roy provided much love and a temporary home to over thirty foster children. Norma was passionate about making sure every child knew they were loved and belonged. Her passion for quilting was evident as she provided a quilt and tooth fairy pillow for each grandchild and great grandchild. she had a deep love for gardening and tending to her many roses. Norma loved to sing and enjoyed listening to music and was often heard singing hymns.
Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St. S. Tavistock on Tuesday from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will conducted in the East Zorra Mennonite Church 16th line on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 2:00pm. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. Reception to follow.
