Dougherty, Helen
Helen Ruth Dougherty (nee Hill) was born in Norwich, Ontario, on August 23, 1937.
She spent most of her life within the community of Norwich growing up on a farm outside of the town centre and then returned after post-secondary education and becoming a nurse.
She returned to her community to grow, get married, and continue her connection with learning. She was a wife, mother, friend, educator, volunteer, and active church member. She died on Sunday April 4, 2024.
She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence and middle son Daryl. She is survived by her eldest son Geoff, and youngest son Matthew (Shelley) plus her daughter Sarah (Brad). Her grandchildren Grace and Beatrice will miss her as they grow up.
Family and friends will be received at the Arn-Lockie Funeral Home, 45 Main Street West, Norwich, ON 519-863-3020, on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 10:00-10:45 A.M.
Memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment service at the New Durham Cemetery to follow. Donations in memory of Helen, may be made to Norwich United Church.
