It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the peaceful passing of Debbie on Monday December 2, 2024. To say that Debbie “did things her own way” is an understatement.
Debbie is survived by her husband Al, her son Josh and wife Melissa, her stepson Matt and wife Kathy, grandchildren Kaleb, Emily, Lucas and Claire and loving mother Helen Murrell, brother Darryl and wife Teresa, sister Julie Lynn and husband Mike Major and brother-in-law Ian Wilcox. Debbie is predeceased by her father Jay Murrell, father-in-law Ross and mother-in-law Joyce.
Debbie loved life, family and was continually learning and experiencing all that life had to offer. Debbie enjoyed time with her family, socializing with her many friends and travelling as often as possible. Her numerous networks of friends and her various volunteer projects always kept her busy and active. “It is what it is” was a common statement that Debbie would utilize whenever faced with life’s events.
The role Debbie played in the lives of the students she taught, the children she shaped as an ECE and the many nieces and nephews whose lives she touched as Auntie Debbie speak volumes of her character and her love of all children in her life.
Debbie’s passion for life, her directness and caring for others will be missed immensely. We love you Debbie. God Bless.
