It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timo Nordberg at Health Sciences North on July 9th, 2024, at 84 years old.
Devoted husband of 47 years of Elizabeth Nordberg (nee Deans). Predeceased by his parents Eino and Aili. Beloved father of Kerri Soulliere (nee Nordberg) and his bonus son Tyler. Loving Pappa of his Kulta babies Julianna and Mackenzy whom he cherished greatly. Loving Brother of Tuula (Dale) and Matti (predeceased). Will be dearly missed by brother-in-law Elton (Debbie), Donnie (Jan), sister in laws Donalda (Russ predeceased), Linda (Ron), Debbie and Connie (Kelly). Predeceased by brothers-in-law Clayton (Penny) and Bruce (Debbie). Will be remembered by many relatives and friends.
Born in Turku Finland in 1940, Tim came to Canada at a young age. Tim was a bus driver for Greyhound and drove school bus for many years and most recently drove the “bussi” at Finlandia and brought the residents shopping, to the movies and the casino. He was a Jack-of-all-trades. Tim was extremely proud of his Finnish heritage and was a devoted member of many committees at Finlandia Village where he and his wife have resided for many years. Tim was a part of the Sudbury Finnish Male Choir for over 60 years. Everyone that met Tim loved him and his infectious smile and friendly demeanour.
Celebration of life will be held on August 11th from 2-4 at Voima Hall at 233 Fourth Avenue, Sudbury.
