It is with heavy hearts that the family announces Richard’s passing on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 71. Loving husband and best friend to Pauline (née Laurin) Prevost for 40 years. “Best dad ever” to Jason (Gen) and Jenny (Kramer) as well as fun-loving pépère to Joshua and Kaylee. Loving son of the late Armand (2010) and the late Jeanne (née Methé) (2013). Dearest brother of Gilles (Estelle) and Claude (Patricia). Beloved brother-in-law to Gerard Laurin (Suzanne), Madeleine Touchette (Jean), Paul Laurin, Denis Laurin and Louise Poitras (Eric). And let’s not forget his life-long friend, Gerry.
Richard was a long-time city employee who also worked hard at maintaining the family farm. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, a good BBQ, and just the great outdoors in general. He liked watching a good game of hockey and was a Habs fan to the core. But most of all, he enjoyed telling stories and cracking jokes with friends and family while having a cold beer after a hard day’s work.
His work boots will be extremely hard to fill, and words can’t express how much he will be missed.
In keeping with Richard’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. Donations can made by cheque or online to the Northern Cancer Foundation. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
