Angèle Labelle Obituary
It is with heavy hearts; Angèle Labelle’s family is announcing her sudden passing.
Angèle Labelle born on Thursday July 18th, 1996, in Sudbury, passed away on Thursday May 9th, 2024, at Health Sciences North surrounded by her loving family.
Angèle Labelle is the daughter of Andre “Andy” Labelle and Monique (nee Gratton). Favourite little sister to Ashley, Amanda, Megan, and their loving partners. She was a special matante/auntie to her nephews and nieces. Angèle will be missed by her surviving grandparents, her many aunts and uncles, and several cousins. As well as her second family of workers she had over the last 20 years, and her special friends. We have some comfort knowing that three pepere’s and special friends (predeceased) will greet her and will be guiding her in the afterlife.
For everyone who knew Angèle , she wasn’t just someone who was bound to a chair with many limitations and special needs, she was someone who surpassed expectations, who loved a challenge, who liked to keep us on our toes and who had us wrapped around her little finger, but mostly someone who brought continuous joy and light everyone’s lives.
Angèle was lucky to have three different families in her lifetime, residing within her home with her family who gave the best love and care her entire life. Her Notre-Dame du Rosaire/ Jean-Paul II family, where she attended school in a deafblind class from the ages of 4 to 21. Here she met several amazing teachers, EAs, faculty, and several hundreds of students throughout the years. These people helped Angèle with her development, with quality special learning, taught her simple sign language so she can communicate a little, and helped our little girl bloom. At the age of 21 Angèle was part of the first deafblind program in Hanmer called Guy house, where she attended a daily program and respite weekends, she formed another family and circle of friends, which allowed her to continue to flourish into the young woman that she was.
Angèle enjoyed going for van rides, she got excited for her baths and water play, loved many types of music, but her favourite was Shania Twain. She laughed from her belly when she made messes and loud noises, and she always enjoyed being part of our conversations and laughter, she was the life of any room she was in.
Despite her daily challenges and complications Angèle, was strong willed, stubborn, witty, funny, charismatic, sensitive, and full of love. She had the best senses; she knew when a loved one was upset and provided the best comfort. Angèle gave the best cuddles, she was our biggest cheer leader, and embraced our happiness. She was one of the most inspiring people that many of us knew and she always pushed us to thrive even further.
Angèle’s strong spirit will always continue to live on and watch over us. Even better, her soul will continue to live through someone else, by her selflessness being an organ donor.
Angèle Labelle had a soul you simply could not forget.

A mass will be held on Saturday. June 1st at 10 am, at Ste-Marguerite d’Youville in Val Therese.
Our family would like to thank all of Angèle doctors, specialists, and nurses who have been by our side throughout the years. We will always have a special place in our hearts for the compassionate kind staff in the ICU at HSN in her last days and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
