C’est avec une profonde tristesse que la famille annonce son décès à Sturgeon Falls, le lundi 27 novembre 2023, à l’âge de 71 ans. Fils fidèle de Marie-Jeanne Martel (née Lavallée) et de feu Guy Martel. Homme de famille dévoué, fier mari de Diane Martel (née Denommé) et père aimant de Cindy (Andrew), Cathy (Michel) et Judy. Sa mémoire restera gravée dans le cœur de ses petits-enfants bien-aimés Nickolas, Zoey et A.J. ainsi que son arrière-petite-fille Mabel. Il manquera beaucoup à ses frères et partenaires de pêche Gerry, Patrick (Susan), Jacques, Yvon (Lori), Marc et sa petite sœur Colette. Il manquera également à ses beau-freres et à ses belle-sœurs, ainsi qu’à plusieurs neveux et nièces. Claude était un travailleur très acharné avec un grand sens de l’humour et prêt à aider tout le monde. Il aimait aussi le camping en famille puisque Diane et Claude s’étaient mariés il y a 49 ans. Daddio avait d’innombrables histoires sur de nombreux chantiers à l’époque et sur de précieux collègues et amis. La famille recevra les amis au Salon Funéraire Théoret-Bourgeois de Sturgeon Falls le samedi 9 décembre 2023, à 13h00 pour des visites et un service dans la chapelle à 14h00, suivi par une rencontre dans la salle de réception 15h00 à 16h00. Des dons à la Société canadienne du cancer seraient appréciés.
It is with profound sadness that the family announce his passing in Sturgeon Falls, on Monday November 27th, 2023, at the age of 71 years. Loyal son of Marie-Jeanne Martel (née Lavallée) and the late Guy Martel. Devoted family man, proud husband of Diane Martel (née Denommé) and loving father of Cindy (Andrew), Cathy (Michel) and Judy. His memory will remain engraved in the hearts of his beloved grandchildren Nickolas, Zoey and A.J. as well as his great-granddaughter Mabel. He will be sadly missed by his brothers and fishing partners Gerry, Patrick (Susan), Jacques, Yvon (Lori), Marc and his little sister Colette. He will also be missed by his brother and sister in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews. Claude was a hard-working man, had a great sense of humour and a willingness to help anyone. He was also fond of camping with his family since Diane and Claude had wed 49 years ago. Daddio had endless stories of back in the day of many job sites and cherished co-workers and friends. The family will receive friends at the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls on Saturday, December 9th, 2023, at 1:00 pm for visitation, a service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm followed by a reunion in the reception room from 3 to 4 pm. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
