Obituary of Trudy Brouwer
Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday December 18, 2023 at University Hospital, Trudy Brouwer was called home to be with her Lord at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late John Brouwer (2017). Loving mother of John (Marty), Agnes (Ed), Peter (Glenda), Tony and Ed (Jody). Adored grandmother to Edward (Carey), Michael (Donna), Jeffrey (Penny), Rachel, Jenna (Darin), Kelly, Cedar, Cade and step grandmother to Bradley and Tyler Zylstra. Treasured great-grandmother to Mason, Launie, Mauve, Landon, Coen, Kingston and step great grandmother to Ava, Baileigh and Charlotte. Dear sister of Joan (Peter) Kapteyn and Agnes (Cor) Kamerman. Predeceased by her parents Elle and Tjitske (Vankalsbeek) Ellens and siblings Pieter, Gordon, Eke, Alice, Francis, Theresa, and her in-laws; Bill, Sidney, Philip, Elizabeth (nee Karelsen), Henny and Tony Brouwer.
Mom loved her family, all her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed working in her gardens at the family home. Mom cherished her many friends she had while she lived at Trillium Village. Those friendships meant the world to her. Everyone that came in contact with mom knew of her great sense of humor and her love for her Lord and Saviour.
We the family would like to take this time to say a special thank you to the PSW’s at Manor Village for their care for mom and support to our family.
A Visitation will take place at the EAST CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 11:00am until time of funeral service at 1:00pm. A private family and extended family interment will take place at Strathroy cemetery.
