Obituary of Maria Teresa Barreiras
Peacefully at Strathmere Lodge on February 22, 2024, Maria Teresa Barreiras passed away at the age of 91. She was the loving wife of the late Rogerio Barreiras. Maria was the loving mother of George (Laura) and Nelson (Clara). Maria was the cherished Avó of the late Philip, Daniel (Amy), James (Yancy), Brittany (Josh), and Nicholas. She was the beloved Bisavó of Olivia, Jackson, Jacob, Frank, Mia, and Michael. Maria is survived by her siblings Antonio (Lydia) and Georgina (Francisco). She was predeceased by her parents Joaquim Martinho (1984) and Clementina Santos (1991) and her brothers Avelino (1975), Joaquim (2016), and Jaime (2005).
Maria loved crocheting and gardening. Family gatherings and spending time with loved ones was one of Maria’s favourite things. If you knew Maria, you would know that she was always right. She always kept her home clean and tidy, and even continued this tradition during her time at Strathmere Lodge. Maria will be deeply missed by her family and all those who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday February 25, 2024, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday February 26, 2024, from 9:30am until 10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints Roman Catholic Church on Monday at 11:00am. Burial to follow at All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery.
