Obituary of Carmene Kormendi
On Friday, June 28th, 2024 at 4:09 p.m. at LHSC University Hospital, London, Carmene Kormendi (nee Gregory), in her 81st year, fought a tough battle since May 30th, 2024. Beloved wife of John Kormendi, of 63 years. Cherished mother of John (Sandy) Kormendi, Tammy (Ross) Farqhar and Joe (Ricki) Kormendi. Devoted Grandma of Aleshia (Mike), John, Matthew, Andrew, Jordan and Jilly. Sister-in-law of Ernie (Sharon) Kormendi. Will be missed by Aunt Esther, nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Carmene was diagnosed with Kindey failure, Pneuomonia, Multiple Myeloma and a collapsed lung. She tried to battle whatever came up as the Doctors did. The staff at University Hosptial was amazing and we thank them dearly. We would like to thank everyone who supported our dad, John, Sandy, Joe, Ricki, Ross and Tammy.
Carmene was known by her great sense of humor, faboulous cooking, especially the hungarian cabbage rolls and top notched potatoe salad. Almost everyone that knew of her meals requested them at one time or another. She was one strong loving lady who made it clear her family was important to her. She is finally at peace and now is with her parents, daughter Rosemary and her brothers.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Denning’s of Strathroy Chapel, 32 Metcalfe St. W., on Friday, July 5th 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Cremation to follow. All are invited to join the family for an Interment in Strathroy Cemetery, 585 Metcalfe St. W., on Thursday, July 11th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Please meet at the cemetery. (Cemetery Location details will be updated here at a later date).
Donations to chairty of choice would be acknowledged by the family.
