Alma Winnifred Yeates, age 97, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Cedarcroft Retirement Residence on Monday, November 13, 2023. Born in Riverview, Ontario, daughter of the late Jim and Mae (Hayes) Brown. Predeceased by the love of her life William Frederick Yeates August 31, 2019. Loving mother of Audrey Balazs, Bill (Sharon) Yeates and Brenda Yeates. Loving grandmother to Michael Balazs, Sarah Mae (Chris) Gravill, Ben (Amanda) Yeates and Matt Yeates. Loving great grandmother to Carter and Isabelle Gravill. Winnifred will be remembered by her brother and sister -in-law Peter and Sandra Yeates and many nieces and nephews. Winnifred was the last surviving member of the immediate Brown family. The family would like to sincerely thank all the wonderful staff at Cedarcroft for the care and compassion given to their mother. We are forever grateful. Besides her husband, Winnifred was predeceased by her son-in-law Tony Balazs and a grandson Timothy Andrew Yeates. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The family will process to Avondale Cemetery for a private graveside service at 3:30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth or Stratford General Hospital Foundation through the funeral home. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
