Obituary
Shelley Wilhelm passed away on Tuesday November 14, 2023, at the age of 59.
Loving wife and best friend of Steve (Bear) Wilhelm. Proud and dearly beloved mother of Khris Wilhelm and Reesa Wilhelm. Shelley leaves behind siblings Wendy Wilkinson Haynes and Trevor Wilkinson, mother-in-law Phyllis Wicks, sister/brother-in-law Karen and Earl Filsinger, and brother-in-law Chris Wilhelm. She is also survived by nephews Dana (Stacey) Wilkinson, Jordan Haynes, Sebastien Wilkinson, niece Kathryn (Michael) Haynes, and great-niece Doreen Currie Haynes. She was predeceased by parents Geoff and Doreen Wilkinson, and siblings Derek, Brian, Stephen, and Ian.
Shelley loved to travel as evidenced by her year as an exchange student living in Heidenheim Germany and the months spent backpacking through Europe before returning home to Canada. Later in life she enjoyed several other trips abroad including more recent family trips to Barcelona and Aruba.
Shelley enjoyed a very rewarding career as a physiotherapist specializing in pediatrics and hand therapy for most of her career. She worked at Stratford General Hospital for over 25 years and helped many children. Shelley’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, and she especially enjoyed travelling around Ontario watching Khris and Reesa play basketball and volleyball through their teenage years!
Bear, Khris, and Reesa would like to thank all the family and friends that helped Shelley over the past few years as she struggled with some health challenges. We would especially like to thank her very close friends Carole Oliver, Debbie Roth, Patti Nelson, Sue Schurr, Sue Hartung, Diane Porte, Tina Gray, and Jen Ehnes for all the love and support they provided for our entire family.
We would also like to thank Dr. Grace Langford (Stratford Family Health), Dr. Amelia Yip (St. Mary’s Hospital Kitchener), and Dr. Theoren Judson (Stratford General Hospital) for their continued support for Shelley and our family during the past three years.

A private family visitation will be held at W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, Ontario on Saturday November 18th, 2023.
