Lorene Anabelle “Tootie” Brodhagen, age 81, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Rotary Hospice surrounded by family on May 15, 2024. Born in GadsHill, daughter of the late Roy and Lila Pearl (Ackersviller) Baumbach. Beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Brodhagen who predeceased her May 14, 2019.
Tootie enjoyed baking, crafting with her grandchildren, playing cards and watching game shows.
Proud mother of Connie (David) Yensen, Patty (Murray) Lichti, Michael (Kelly) Brodhagen and Tanya (Ken) Boersen. Loving Grandmother of Dan Illes (Frances Sarmiento), Chantel Illes, James Brodhagen, Nichelle Brodhagen, Catherine (Peter) Treloar, Emma Lichti (Christian Simpson), Jarrett Boersen and Jocelyn Boersen. Great Grandmother of MacMurray Treloar. Lorene will be remembered by her sisters-in-laws and brother-in-law Donna Brodhagen, Joan Brodhagen, Bill Knott and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother-in-law and father-in-law Edward and Mary Brodhagen, sister and brother Audrey Pitts (Donald) and Laverne Ackersviller (Sharon), sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Myrtle Steckly (Allan), Judy Jepson (Tom), Bernard Brodhagen, Lloyd Brodhagen, Lorne Brodhagen, Linda Massey, Betty Knott, Marlene (Don) Fraser.
Friends and family may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, on Tuesday, May 21, from 6-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 22, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the interment at Avondale Cemetery.
