Jerry Smart Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Wayne Smart age 65 on Monday April 8th surrounded by his loved ones at Stratford General Hospital. Jerry is survived by his mother Shirley Smart (George Smart pre deceased) children Katrina Smart and Brittany Neller (Brandon). Loving grandfather to Tanner, Austin and Briar Lynn. Jerry will be deeply missed by his sister Cindy Schultze (Bryan). He will be fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his abundance of hockey buddies and friends.
Jerry was a lifelong Boston Bruins fan and collected quite the memorabilia. Jerry was an avid sportsman who continued to not only play hockey but also enjoyed the game of golf like a true hockey player. Special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Stratford Hospital for their care and compassion.
As Jerry would not want an elaborate service, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will take place on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 5-7pm in the Reception Centre of the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. Please come and share stories and memories of Jerry. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice though the funeral home. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
