Carole Diane Dowsett Obituary
In her 82nd year, Carole Diane Dowsett passed away peacefully at Stratford Rotary Hospice on January 11, 2024. Carole was born in Stratford, daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle (Satchell) Vollett.
Carole is survived by her husband, Bob, of 59 wonderful years; daughters, Michelle (Fred) Bice and Sherri Dowsett; her grandchildren: Nicole Bice (Jake Howe), John (Jamie) Bice, Natalie Bice; Mitchell & Cameron (Dowsett) Ground.
Carole is also survived by her brother Harry (Kate) Vollett of Es, ON.
Carole graduated from Nightingale School of Nursing in Toronto in 1963 and began her career as a nurse. After becoming a stay-at-home mom to her two beloved daughters, she spent many years as a daycare teacher and cook at the Anne Hathaway Daycare. After retiring from their respective careers, Bob and Carole continued in their coin business for over 30 years, owning and operating BC Coins at the Stratford Farmers Market. Carole spent her entire life as a loving person and caregiver and was known for her quick wit and friendly personality.
Cremation and a private family service have taken place. Donations in Carole’s memory can be made through W. G. Young Funeral Home (www.wgyoungfuneralhome.ca) to Stratford Rotary Hospice, London Regional Cancer Program, or Stratford General Hospital Foundation. Special thanks to all the compassionate staff and volunteers at Stratford Rotary Hospice and her Home Care staff for helping the entire family and Carole through her illness with pancreatic cancer.
