Aurora “Imelda” Drake Obituary
After nineteen years, Aurora “Imelda” Drake was reunited with the love of her life, Douglas Walter Drake (Feb 23, 2005) She bravely left all she knew and loved in Mexico to begin a new adventure with Doug in Stratford – he made sure she would never regret that decision.
She is the fiercely protective and loving mother of Mike (Julie), Bill (Kim), and Maria (Paul). She will continue to champion her grandchildren Owen (Caitlyn), Emma, Karissa (Kyle), Adam, Claire and Andrew (Kylyn). Great grandchild Brooklynn.
Imelda will be remembered for her independence, cherished gardens and delight in fashion bargains. Mom had a deep appreciation for a good meal (including dessert) shared with family and friends.
Imelda also joins her parents Ernesto and Evangelina Estevez, her infant brother Frederico, and brothers in law Henry Drake (Grace), Reg Drake (Pat), sisters in law Gwen Cahill (Harold), Jean Drake as well as nephew Morley Drake, and niece Tricia Kessler.
The family would like to extend a grateful thanks to Wendy Dunn Nurse Practitioner, for her exemplary care and compassion for mom while she was at Knollcrest Lodge and Greenwood Court. Thank you to the PSW’s and nurses who made her day better, including Shannon PSW, Sharon RN, and Sierra RPN. Our deepest gratitude to Leanna Rivers PSW/ friend, your love and care for Imelda will not be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.
