Obituary of Sawako Louise Sato Mototsune
September 6, 1927 – October 12, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sawako Louise on Saturday, October 12, at the age of 97. She died peacefully at home in her sleep. Her strength of will and her kind and caring nature were cherished by her late husband Tom, and shaped the lives of her children, who loved her dearly: her late son Danny, daughter Katherine, and son Matthew (Karen). She was an inspiring and beloved “bachan” to her adored grandchildren Aric and Olivia. As Sawako-nesan she will be missed by her brother Roy Sato and sister Lillian Ide; her many nieces and nephews and their children hold fond memories of their Auntie Louise.
As per Sawako Louise’s wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. If you wish, you can honour her memory by donating to a charity of your choice, including those particular to Parkinson’s Disease, or by simply spending time with a good book and a cup of coffee.
