Obituary of Jeanette McMurray
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jeanette (Bunty) McMurray on May 5, 2024. Jeanette was born on March 14, 1947 in Bathgate, Scotland and immigrated to Canada as a toddler in 1950. Jeanette is predeceased by her loving mother Georgina (Cissie). She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Catherine (Tony Mac) and partner Richard Pearce, many extended family members, and friends. Jeanette was a passionate and hard working woman. She dedicated many years to Westinghouse and then as an office assistant with the HWCDSB at Cathedral High School and Wilma’s Place. She was an avid bowler, coach, and devoted Blue Jays fan, travelling all over North America to watch her team play. Jeanette was a social butterfly and loved every chance to visit or celebrate with family and friends. She was a thoughtful soul who never missed a milestone, birthday, or sporting event of a loved one. Jeanette (Bunty) will be missed. Friends and family will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, May 14 from 5-7 p.m. Burial will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main St W, Hamilton on Thursday, May 16 at 10 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Assistance Program or a charity of your choice.
