Obituary of Danica Minic
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Danica Minic (Torbica) on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Danica died peacefully at age of 87 years at Madison Village Nursing Home (previous Clarion Nursing Home).
Danica leaves behind her daughters Nada Jovanovic (Nenad) and Jovanka Dragojevic (Matija), granddaughter Nikolina Mohle (Jordan), grandsons Zoran and Goran (Natalija) Dragojevic and great-grandson Maxim Ilia Mohle, sisters Milka Katic and Maca Perencevic. Danica will be missed by her nieces and nephews in Canada, United States, Germany and Serbia along with kumovi and friends and special kuma Ivanka in Melbourne Australia. Predeceased by husband Jovo, parents Ana and Simo, brother Ljuban Torbica and sister Mica MInic and first born daughter Milka that left pain in her heart that never ended.
Danica loved gardening, the outdoors, animals, loved spanding and talking to our dogs late Dzeki and her Svrco Bailey. She spent hours patiently knitting or crocheting, wishing to surprise family members with her creations and leave something to be remembered by. Danica also loved to listen her favourite singers. Danica came to live in Canada in 2009 and made numerous new friends. Always with a smile on her face, open arms and friendly, she was loved by everyone she met even if they didn’t speak same language, and most of them like our dear friend Aleksandra, next door neighbour.
Family would like to give extended gratitude to Dr. Timarac and Dr. Cusimano as our family physicians, Dr. Arora for giving Danica better sight when in mattered, Dr. Joseph Philip for looking after Mom’s heart and never missing to ask about her, Dr. Sewchand and his wonderful staff at Clarion now Madison Village Nursing Home with nurses NSd mom’s favorite girls PSWs (they know who they are).
Visitation will be at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with Funeral at 3 p.m. with Reverend Father Djuro Samac officiating.
Family kindly requests to not buy flowers as interment of Danica will be in Serbia.
