Obituary of Cheryl Oddie
August 30, 1964 – March 20, 2024
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the sudden passing of Cheryl, loving wife of Allan Oddie, caring daughter of Mary and John MacDougall and cherished younger sister of Doug and John. She will be missed by sisters-in-law Lynn and Doreen and many friends and relatives too numerous to mention.
Cheryl’s greatest passion in life was the outdoors – she enjoyed time up North at the cottage, fishing, snowmobiling and was also an avid hockey player. Cheryl will fondly be remembered as an animal advocate, raising cherished Akitas -Gordie, Kenny and Sake and supporting worthwhile causes. Her dream was to one day return to her roots and move to the East Coast and support the Hope for Wildlife program. Always putting the needs of others front and centre in her life, Cheryl will forever be thought of as a true friend and confidante who cared deeply for all those who touched her life.
The family would like to thank the EMTs and staff at Hamilton General Hospital – ICU for all of their supportive care. Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Tuesday, March 26 – Visitation from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Hamilton SPCA or Hope for Wildlife, Nova Scotia.
“Wherever you are, Cheryl, you will always be with us like a handprint on our hearts.”
