Suddenly on May 16th, 2024, Robert McVicar, just 62 years old. Loved by so many, Rob is survived by his life partner and spouse of 42 years, Anne Cunningham, his brother Tim (Alison) and many nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by his parents Ron and Yvonne (Bonnie) McVicar and his two siblings Pennie and Tom (Linda) just in the last 2 years. In his youth, Rob was an avid artist, skateboarder, music fan and friend to many in his little neighbourhood near Stamford Collegiate. The skateboard ramp or the spray-painted tennis court in the dead-end street where he lived hosted many a talent and tournament filled summer day. In later years, he treated many friends and family members to his awesome cooking and catering, because it was his pride to be able to feed his family when they gathered for special occasions. His artistic abilities always made for the most elaborate gift wrapping that was the showstopper of many a family Christmas gift exchange. He was never happier than when he was watching movies, listening to music or vinyl hunting with his niece, Kim as they grew up together, out for a drive along the parkway with Anne, and cooking or colouring with Pennie.
Rob was a larger-than-life presence, helper to so many and a grateful recipient of a kidney transplant. We know he would encourage anyone to be an organ donor and he would have liked for donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice. Please enjoy a favourite song in memory of Rob, and know that the world is a bit less humorous and happy today without him.
