Obituary of John Robert Allan
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Robert Allan on August 6, 2024 in his 80th year. Cherished father and grandfather of Anneke Emily and her husband Stephen Bon and their children Xander, Sebastian, Gabriel and Luna of Orangeville. Beloved brother of Linda and Joe Sovar, of Niagara Falls and Wendy and Ralph Byng of St. Catharines. Also survived by his devoted cousin and friend Alvin Hunt. He was pre-deceased by his infant daughter Amanda (1984) and parents Robert (2000) and Emily (2008). He will be missed by his many cousins, friends, and neighbours.
John lived the majority of his life in St. Catharines, but resided Toronto in the 70’s and 80’s. He worked as a draftsman for 50 years ending his career at Regional Doors and Windows in 2020. John’s greatest passion in life was music from the 50’s to the 90’s. Prior to his move to Toronto he was very active in Drum Corps. He was a past member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, where he enjoyed playing darts for many years. He also loved sports and was particularly fond of the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Flyers and Toronto Argonauts
End of life arrangements have been entrusted to The George Darte Funeral Home in St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of his Life will take place at a date to be announced.
