WHITTINGHAM, BEVERLEY CARLEEN (Nee Schwenker)
Beverley Carleen Whittingham (Schwenker) of St. Catharines, died on July 22 after a long
illness. She was beloved wife of the Rev’d Canon Keith Whittingham, and mother to daughter
Clare and son-in-law Mackenzie, and grandmother to Harold, Adelaide and Freya. She is also
survived by her sister Gail Julie (George) and brothers Tim and David (Mary).
After graduating from the University of Toronto, Beverley worked as a probation officer in
Burlington and then finished her career in estate work at the St. Catharines court house.
Beverley loved words and always had a crossword puzzle on the go, the difficult kind. She
was a skilled baker and liked to make cookies and muffins. Her interests included playing the
piano and arranging flowers for church.
She was a hard worker and took great pride in her job, always willing to go the extra mile to
help others. She was a kind, generous, thoughtful person. Even in her later years, when she
was unable to speak, she would always greet people with a smile.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated to honour her life on Monday, August, 26 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church in Jordan, Ontario.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimers Society and Heidehof Home.
