Obituary of Andrew Sawchyn
SAWCHYN, Andrew- Passed away with his loving family by his side on Friday, December 22nd, 2023 at the St. Catharines Hospital at the age of 95. Beloved husband of Margaret for 62 years. Cherished father of Heather and Kevin (Mary-Anne) Sawchyn. Loving grandpa of Hannah and Olivia Sawchyn. Survived by his brothers Nat (Doreen), Bill and Nick (the late Swannie) Sawchyn and his sisters in law Jean, Agnes and Mary Kay (the late Dale). He is predeceased by his brothers Mike and Steve Sawchyn and his sister Kay (the late Frank). Andrew was a long time and dedicated farmer in Saskatchewan until his retirement. After retiring Andrew and Margaret moved to St. Catharines to be closer to their family. He loved gardening, flowers and birds. Andrew had a special place in his heart for all of his nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, December 28th from 10a.m.- 12p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 12p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
