Fotherby, June Edith, passed away peacefully at the Southampton Care Centre, Southampton on Tuesday December 26, 2023. June Fotherby (nee Pentney) of Southampton and formerly of Thistletown, in her 90th year. Loving wife of the late Jack (John) Henry Fotherby. Proud and loving mother of Bruce and his wife Kathy, Jackie and her husband Doug Smith, Jim and his wife Lois and Penny and her husband Rick Gingrich, and Robert and his wife Lori. Dotting grandma of Sarah (Derek), Sam (Sarah), Heather (Patrick), Jennifer (Gord), David (Jody), Diana (Dan), Nathan (Cara), Ashley (John), Sabrina “Brooke”, and John. Great grandma of Ben, Owen, and Colette, Grayson and Duncan, Danica and Kaelyn, Rebecca, Alyssa, and Alexander, Jackson and Presley, Kaine, Emrich, Noah, and Isabelle, Illa, Sylis and Couper.
Survived by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Illa Pentney, siblings, Bernice, Robert, Mary, and Penny, granddaughter Cassandra, and great grandson Christopher.
June love her town of Southampton and was instrumental in many Town Celebrations, such as, she chaired the Southampton 125th celebration and the Southampton Heritage weekend. She was so involved in so many other things in our community, but these are the two she was most proud of. She especially enjoyed her many travels across Canada with Jack in their Fifth Wheel.
A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of June Fotherby will be held in the Chapel of the Eagleson Funeral Home on Saturday December 30th at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Southampton Cemetery. A Time of Fellowship and Sharing will follow at the St. Paul’s Bevan Hall.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Grey Bruce, the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, or to the Charity of your Choice.
